For the past few years, thousands of Gentoo Penguins haven't been able to build their nests or hatch eggs because too much snow covers their traditional nesting grounds. I felt the heartache as the male seemed to comfort the female when she realized she couldn't dig through over 10 feet of snow to lay the eggs she was carrying.
