Great Bear Rain Forest, British Columbia

We were told only about 50% of those who come to witness the Spirit Bear actually get to see one, and this guy had only been spotted once so far this season. But after waiting patiently for over 2 hours on hard, slippery boulders, like an apparition he appeared - a small light colored form far off in the distance. Slowly he began making his way towards us, investigating buried clams along the way. Within 5 minutes he was close enough for our long range lens to focus and soon enough he was in our midst, keeping an eye on us but exhibiting no aggression or fear.
