Using Adobe Lightroom, I can extract a still frame (and edit it) from either an i-phone (".mov" file) or from an MP4 file.

Has anyone tried doing this with an Android phone? What movie file format does an Android phone create?

I'm not sure if all android phones are the same, but my Google Pixel creates mp4 files. You should be able to extract an image the same way. The only issue I've found is with action (why I'm videoing) the video speed may not be fast enough to get a sharp photo.
