Changing back to RAW files instead of DNG in Lightroom

I want to stop having my RAW files converted to DNG in Lightroom so I can use the new Photoshop Denoise.

I've found a few older files that were not converted to DNG. It appears to do a better job at Denoise than Topaz Denoise.

How do I do that?

Hi Steve,

Sorry I didn't reply earlier, but we are out of town visiting Teddy Roosevelt NP.
Anyway, your question is a good one and easily remedied. I also have decided not use DNG anymore either as some competitions will accept only the original raw file.

That said, all you have to do is this: when you open your Import page in Lightroom, instead of using "Copy as DNG", select "Copy" instead. I attached a screenshot if that helps. Let me know if you have any further questions!

Best,

Jules

This is great!. I finally figured out how to change it back to original RAW files. Now I know I can do it when I want to on every download. I think I'll be using RAW downloads on Night Photography only. The RAW downloads sure take extra time editing than DNG files.

Thanks Julie.
