This is what I’m seeing with the A1 (see file)
Image 1
This is what it should look like (see 2nd file)
Image 2 ( I couldn’t upload this but it is properly exposed including contrast and color balance using same settings with my Sony A7rIV)
I have switched lenses (not the problem), checked the camera settings (not the problem), cleaned the sensor (not the problem), adjusted the Finder/Monitor settings in the menu (better when under exposed two stops, but still not solved). Clearly what I see is not what I get. I can correct the image with Lightroom, but I need to see through the lens what I’m getting. Clearly something is wrong.

Hi Mike, did your white balance get messed up somehow? That happened to me once and it was an easy fix. Good luck!

Judi, I checked my white balance. It is set for auto-standard-white. I don’t think that’s the problem. I compared the white balance with my other Sony, and they look the same. Where the current view is it seems to show me an image 1-2 stops overexposed with less contrast - yet the settings are the same as my Sony A7rIV.
(P.S.: I’m in a motel in Idaho with the Internet signal up and down, so can’t respond predictably.)

Hi Mike
Is PP Off - Picture Profile. Make sure that you have not accidently selected one of them.

Mike, you didn't mention the exposure compensation dial.

I used Noah Buchanan, Russ Burden's sales contact at Hunt's Photo to buy the camera. I contacted him, and he in turn, contacted a Sony support guy. He recommended checking the Picture Profile as well. It was off. However, I created a custom Picture Profile with +1 Saturation. That appears to have solved the problem. The other suggestion was to do an Initialization (which I don't know how to do).
