It looks to me like things are happening a little early this year. I'm heading to Kenosha Pass this weekend, but plan on a 3 or 4 day outing next weekend, starting Sept 23. Will the northern destinations have already peaked by then? I'd prefer to head for Steamboat, but will head further south if needed.
Also - any suggestions, favorite places?

Kenosha Pass on Saturday 09/18 was very colorful - I would say at peak. Also traveled through South Park, Breckenridge, Boreas Pass - all looking good.
