April 2011 Meeting Summary

< Previous Meeting | Index | Next Meeting > At our April meeting, Bob Smith entertained club members with stories of his adventures during several photographic trips to Antarctica while sharing with us his beautiful images from those trips, including scenics and wildlife. Toward the end of his presentation, Bob shared with us the iPad app that he is developing to enable photographers to create interactive coffee-table style books on the iPad. Bob showed us an example using his Antarctica trip. His app allows the photograper's images to take advantage of the brightness of the backlit display, but more importantly it allows the photographer to link maps of where the photograph was obtained and text about the image with which the person viewing may interact.

Bob then judged our club competition. He provided numerous instructive discussion points regarding each member's image — so many helpful comments that in order to be finished and out of The Wildlife Experience on time Bob judged the Masters' images with number scores only. Thank you Bob for all of the helpful comments about our images.
