January 2011 Meeting Summary

< Previous Meeting | Index | Next Meeting > Chris Brown, a Boulder based photographer whose work is in the collection of the Denver Museum of Art, gave a thought provoking presentation as the speaker at our January meeting. Mr. Brown showed us images from his new book, Path of Beauty-Photographic Adventures of the Grand Canyon. Mr. Brown uses a large format camera to create both large scale and intimate landscapes. Many of his images were obtained during raft trips inside the canyon. The colors and details in his images cause one to wonder if they are paintings or photographs.
