I and many others have experienced a hang when trying to pass a RAW file from Adobe Camera RAW into Photoshop 2018 on a PC. To fix this bug, when you open the file in ACR RAW, go to Preferences>Camera Raw and unchecked graphics processor.

I experienced this on Windows 7 and understand it is also a problem with some Windows 1p users.

I don't know if this is also an issue with a Mac.

Fat fingers on a cell resulted in several mis-types and double send. Sorry!

To fix bug, open a RAW file in Adobe Camera RAW. Go to:

Preferences>Camera Raw

Unchecked Graphics Processor

This bug was in Windows 7 and some experienced it in Windows 10 as well.

I don't know abut a Mac.

The graphic processor use in LR (ACR) has always caused problems. I have had a two step approach with clients. First make sure the GPU driver is up to date (Windows only). Have had this problem occur on brand new computers. Second turn off the GPU in LR or ACR (as previously mentioned) the programs work fine without it. Have not noticed the problem with any of the Macs but that doesn’t mean it’s not there. Macs have an advantage of having one hardware manufacture and OS developer in this case

Up to date drivers for Windows are reported as not solving the problem. Just turn off the graphics processor in ACR if you have a problem.

Raw The rape is a better RAW converter as previously reported. There are no problems using that to process RAW files but a high resolution file must first be saved, then opened in Photoshop.
